Will congress go alone this time?
We remember very well the scenario in the state during the last assembly elections. All the parties in the state united to defeat TDP, the then ruling party and indeed have succeeded. Congress as the leader of that coalition formed the government.
However after four and half years the situation has changed totally. As the political scenario gets clearer, it can be seen that none of the parties is willing to work along with Congress in the coming general elections.

PRP and TDP do not come into the picture of alliances with Congress as they are the main rivals to Congress in the state. CPM has already declared that it will either go with TDP or PRP, but not with Congress. CPI, though didn’t make any formal announcement has implied that it would go with PRP. After TDP has taken its decision in favor of Telengana, TRS which has Telengana as its main agenda, will obviously have to move with TDP. Other smaller parties like NavaTelengana, BJP will not make much difference.
So, in effect Congress in completely isolated in the state and will have to stand independently in the upcoming elections. If PRP wasn’t there, Congress would have been definitely ousted out of power. But with this new and powerful political party in the scene, Congress hopes for a hung situation and thus save its government. All we can do is wait and see how this turns out.
